HCMC – Work will begin in quarter four on two expressway sections connecting the central provinces of Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa, with a total investment of VND23.5 trillion.
The project management board No.7 has sent a feasibility study of the Chi Thanh-Van Phong and Van Phong-Nha Trang sections to the Ministry of Transport, reported the news site VnExpress.net.
The Chi Thanh-Van Phong section, which is over 48 kilometers long, will pass through Phu Yen and cost over VND11 trillion. In the first phase, the route will have four lanes, measure 17 meters wide, and allow a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Besides, 32 bridges will be built along the route.
The Van Phong-Nha Trang section will run across Khanh Hoa, with a total length of 84 kilometers and investment of more than VND12.5 trillion. This section will also have four lanes in the first phase and will be expanded to six lanes later.
As part of the North-South Expressway project, the two sections are expected to be opened to traffic in 2026.
The 729-kilometer North-South Expressway project in the 2021-2025 period is divided into 12 subprojects, with a total investment of nearly VND147 trillion.
