HCMC – The Project Management Board for Urban Infrastructure Investment in HCMC has announced that work on package XL-03 of the Xuyen Tam canal project will begin in November.
This major canal project, which spans the districts of Binh Thanh and Go Vap, will be carried out in three phases. The construction of package XL-03 is set to start in November, while contractor selection and construction for packages XL-01 and XL-02 are planned for April next year.
The Project Management Board is actively coordinating with local authorities to finalize compensation plans and ensure disbursement of funds by December. Following the contractor selection for package XL-03, remaining funds will be allocated to officially commence the project.
The investment capital for the Xuyen Tam Canal project has been revised to over VND17,229 billion, with more than VND13,900 billion for compensation, site clearance, and relocation of technical infrastructure. Initially, the project had a funding allocation of VND9,512 billion.
