HCMC – Vietnam has seen the third morning in a row without any new Covid-19 cases being reported, while 18 recovered Covid-19 patients are expected to be discharged from hospital today, April 7, stated the Health Ministry.
The country has registered 113 patients free of Covid-19, including 95 patients who have left hospitals after their recovery earlier. No fatalities due to the virus have been recorded to date.
Among the remaining132 active cases, 30 tested negative for the flu-like virus two to four times, including three critically ill patients tagged as the 19th, 91st and 161st cases.
The 19th patient, since April 4, has stopped using ECMO, a life support machine that allows the patient’s lungs and hearts to recover and function properly. Her test results were negative three times as well. The 64-year-old Hanoian is on a ventilator and her blood is being filtered.
The 91st case is a British national working as a Vietnam Airlines pilot. His health condition has worsened and he has been on a ventilator and ECMO since April 6.
Doctors also had to use a ventilator for the 161st case, who is an 88-year-old woman residing in the northern province of Hung Yen.
