HCMC – The Ministry of Health today, May 7, confirmed 3,345 new daily Covid infections in the country, down 474 against yesterday.
Hanoi remained the nation’s biggest coronavirus hotspot with 630 cases, followed by Vinh Phuc with 222. Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, Tuyen Quang, Nghe An, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh and Yen Bai detected 100 to 180 cases each.
The country’s Covid infections so far have climbed to over 10.67 million.
Nearly 2,300 Covid patients were declared free of Covid, sending the country’s total recoveries to over 9.3 million. No Covid deaths were reported today.
More than 188,700 vaccine doses were administered on May 6, taking the total doses given to people nationwide to some 215.54 million.
Some six million Vietnamese people are holding a digital Covid vaccine passport, up nearly 2.5 million from a week earlier, according to the ministry.
Given the steady decline in new cases, Binh Duong Province will suspend 162 pop-up healthcare stations from June 30, the provincial Department of Health said on May 6.
The province confirmed 11 cases today and has reported no deaths over the past 15 days, the local media reported.
