HCMC – Le Hai Trong has tendered his resignation as board chairman of Danameco Medical Joint Stock Corporation (DANAMECO), which is listed on the Hanoi Stock Exchange with the stock code DNM, for personal reasons.
His resignation request was sent in on May 5. This morning, May 9, the board of the firm had yet to confirm whether it accepts his request.
The company’s board on May 5 passed a plan to convene an extraordinary shareholders meeting scheduled to take place in June this year. The last registration date for the meeting is May 26.
DNM declined 9.05% to VND38,200, with 39,400 shares traded today.
On the HCMC bourse, the benchmark VN-Index shed 59.64 points, or 4.49%, against the previous session at 1,296.62, with 27 stocks rising and 445 others declining. Trade the HCMC market improved 19.5% in volume and 10.4% in value against last Friday at nearly 674 million shares and over VND18 trillion. Shares traded in block deals contributed nearly VND1.6 trillion to the overall value.
Nearly half of the stocks in the VN30 basket closed at their daily floor prices such as lenders TCB and BID, insurer BVH, stock brokerage SSI and fuel trader PLX. The remainder dropped around 3%.
On the Hanoi bourse, the HNX-Index extended losses toward the afternoon. With only 27 winners and 222 losers, the index lost 10.07 points, or 5.84%, versus the previous session at 323.39.
Three stocks in the HNX30 basket bucked the market downtrend, with LHC edging up 5.4%, NRC rising 3.9%, and NBB inching up 2.4%.
