HCMC – The government of HCMC has ordered the intensification of Covid-19 precautionary measures at export processing, industrial and hi-tech parks, and companies citywide, including asking workers in these areas to declare their health status everyday.

The municipal government asked the heads of local authorities to put the anti-coronavirus mission on the top of their priority list, take drastic measures and fulfil their leadership roles in the anti-Covid-19 fight, reported Tuoi Tre Online.

Authorities in districts and Thu Duc City have to team up with the management boards of export processing zones, industrial zones, hi-tech parks and large businesses to sign deals to show their commitment to ensuring full compliance with Covid-19 safety measures.

Besides this, they were told to check compliance with anti-epidemic regulations in these places. Managers of export processing zones, industrial zones, hi-tech parks and leaders of businesses have to take responsibility for the implementation of Covid-19 preventive measures within their authority, promptly address shortcomings and tackle violators, especially unmasked individuals and those joining large gatherings.

Workers failing to make health declarations will not be allowed to work at export processing zones and industrial parks.

Further, the management boards of these facilities were required to map out Covid-19 response scenarios and submit them to the HCMC government for approval before organizing drills.

Also, large-scale companies operating in export processing zones and industrial parks were encouraged to equip themselves with facial recognition devices and thermal imaging cameras to help Covid-19 screening efforts.

The city asked all employees and workers in export processing zones and industrial parks to declare their health condition and travel history, while employers were told to manage and provide adequate information for the competent forces to serve the Covid-19 fight upon request.
