Binh Duong starts work on 1,000 social homes

HCMC – The An Sinh social housing project with nearly 1,000 units for low-income earners has been kicked off to satisfy the housing demand in Binh Duong Province.

The Binh Duong People’s Committee and Housing and Urban Development Holdings Corporation Limited have coordinated to organize the groundbreaking ceremony on September 23 in Chanh My Ward, Thu Dau Mot City.

With a total area of 2.7 hectares, the social housing project will have six 12-story blocks and 978 apartments. The total floor area of the project is over 83,000 square meters.

The An Sinh social housing project will be equipped with parking lots, playgrounds, swimming pools and green gardens. The lowest selling price of an apartment has been announced at around VND700 million.

The project is located near the Saigon River and Cu Chi District in HCMC. Work on the project will be completed at the end of 2023.

Binh Duong has recently seen strong industrialization growth, with 30 industrial parks, dozens of industrial clusters, and rapid population growth in recent years. Thus, the housing demand for workers in the province has become larger over the years.

The local authority has encouraged many enterprises and companies to invest in social housing projects for low-income earners, Chairman of Binh Duong People’s Committee Vo Van Minh said.

Binh Duong Province has 25 social housing projects with a total floor area of over 1.4 million square meters. The selling prices have been announced at VND5.6 million – VND14.89 million per square meter.

Some 22 commercial housing projects in the province have set aside 20% of their construction area for social housing units, with a total area of over 64 hectares.
