HCMC – The headquarters building of the National Housing Organization Company (N.H.O) has been awarded the Leadership In Energy And Environmental Design (LEED) Certificate by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) for its eco-friendly design, construction and operation.

Speaking at the LEED Awards Ceremony on November 10, Park Seung Hoon, deputy managing director of N.H.O, said, “Green and sustainable development is one of the core values making N.H.O successful and different in the market in the past 10 years. We hope this milestone will make a positive impact not only on our environment but also on the lives of our employees, residents and partners.”

The N.H.O headquarters consists of three floors covering 450 square meters. The building can save up to 27.9% of the total annual energy consumption compared to the basic level, thanks to energy-efficient solutions.

The building features a high-efficiency VRF system, a motion sensor LED system, heat-resistant glass with good control of solar radiation energy, a fan system to supply fresh air to the building space, and a pressure sensor to monitor the operating status of the fan.

In addition, the headquarters can save over 40% of the total annual water consumption due to the installation of low-flow sanitary equipment and a drip irrigation system.

In terms of waste disposal, the headquarters has dedicated an area to sort, collect and store five types of recyclable materials, including mixed paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and metal, as well as two other areas for hazardous and organic waste.

The green area in the building occupies 20% of its total area, with green gardens right in front of the facade on all three floors.

Founded in 1993, USGBC is a member-based nonprofit organization that promotes the sustainable design, construction and operation of buildings.

LEED is a set of standards in energy and environmental design developed by USGBC in 1995 to create energy-saving buildings and protect the living environment of people.
