The New Year 2023’s BTV Run – Number 1 took place around the Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center on January 1, 2023 with the participation of many athletes in and outside Binh Duong Province.
On the first day of the new year 2023, the Binh Duong New City center became more crowded and bustling than ever. Over 1,000 athletes from 25 units nationwide gathered for the New Year 2023’s BTV Run – Number 1. This was one of the competitions that sport lovers and athletes looked forward to for not only its valuable awards but also its sportsmanship that has been nurtured persistently by the organizing board during the last 24 years.
The BTV Run – Number 1 is an annual competition which has been included in the national competition system by the Vietnam Athletics Federation, organized by the Binh Duong Television and Radio Station in coordination with the Binh Duong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The 2023 run which coincided with the 26th anniversary of the re-establishment of Binh Duong Province (January 1, 1997 – January 1, 2023) was made more attractive with a message of “together welcoming the new year with new victory, contributing to the development of a better Binh Duong”.
Accompanying the BTV Run – Number 1 in the first years, Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group was the main sponsor of this year’s competition. Speaking at the opening ceremony, the group’s deputy CEO Tran Uyen Phuong said, “The year 2023 marks the official commencement of the 24th competition and the 24th year that Tan Hiep Phat Group and its Number 1 Brand has the honor to coordinate with the Binh Duong Television and Radio Station and the Binh Duong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the Binh Duong Run – Number 1 as the main sponsor. We are delighted to see the run attracting the participation of lots of athletes from different cities and provinces nationwide. This has created a very vivid sport spirit for those keen on sports, especially athletes, on the occasion of the New Year.”
To support the participating teams this year, besides the traditional product, Number 1 Active with salty lemon flavor that replenishes water and minerals, Tan Hiep Phat Group and its Number 1 Brand brought in a new product, Number 1 Soya Canxi “Super cool bottle, super strong bone”.
The Group has launched the Number 1 Soya Canxi onto the market in December 2021 highlighted by high nutrition and additional calcium helping build stronger bone and its bottle design convenient for consumption at any place. According to Uyen Phuong, any products from Number 1 Brand not only bring about energy and toughness but also supplements nutrition, improves people’s health and enables athletes to have more confidence to conquer challenges, especially in sports.
Not only acting as the main sponsor, Tan Hiep Phat has a remarkable number of athletes being the staff and management of the group participating in the competition. The deputy CEO said that the group always focuses on and spreads the sportsmanship and physical exercise to staff. Participating in the BTV Run – Number 1, Tan Hiep Phat’s staff and management set a goal of building bravery to overcome challenges and self-limitation, contributing to development of a better society and community.
After the opening ceremony, races for different groups took place in succession. For male 10-kilometer run, Nguyen Trung Cuong was excellently the first one to cross the finish line in 32 minutes and 20.50 seconds. For female 5-kilometer race, Nguyen Thi Thuy Van, a contestant from Khanh Hoa, managed to take the lead and became the winner with 18 minutes and 29.33 seconds. At the same time, the first prize of the whole female team went to Khanh Hoa, while the home team of Binh Duong took the first place of the same content in the race for men.
For the amateur races, Truong Hong Huu from Tan Uyen Town won the first prize in the 4-kilometer race for men and Nguyen Thi Thuong from Thu Dau Mot City was the first person to finish the female 3-kilometer race. For 3-kilometer race for the whole team, the Military Engineering Academy (team 2) defeated other teams to win the highest prize.
For the secondary and high school group, the 3-kilometer race for the male team honorably saw the Phu Giao Secondary School as the winner and the first prize of the 2-kilometer race for female team belonged to Thu Dau Mot University (team 1). Meanwhile, Binh Chuan – Thuan An Elementary School (team 1) was the champion of the 2-kilometer race for elementary school group.
The New Year 2023’s BTV Run – Number 1 successfully came to an end with valued awards for those with outstanding competition achievements. The level of the amateur and professional groups has improved much over the previous run.
The BTV Run – Number 1 is a prestigious and attractive race not only for Binh Duong Province but also for the whole country. With the increasingly professional investment, the run is expected to nurture talents for the national sports and encourage the community, the youth, students, officers in doing physical exercise for studying, working and protecting the country.
