HCMC – Vung Tau City in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau attracted over 43,000 visitors on the second day of the Lunar New Year, or January 23, a seven-fold increase against the previous day.
The city’s beaches were crowded with visitors, the local media reported.
A day earlier, or the first day of the Year of the Cat, some 6,000 people came to the city, increasing five-fold year-on-year.
The number of travelers to Vung Tau on the 2023 Tet holiday is forecast to be much higher than in previous years.
Similarly, the northern province of Ninh Binh saw a large number of tourists on the Tet holiday.
Over the past four days, the province has welcomed some 85,000 visitors, a seven-fold year-on-year increase, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.
Of the total, some 13,000 international travelers arrived in the province.
