HCMC – The Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang began construction on the VND56-billion Vam Giong Bridge project today, February 1.
The bridge connects the districts of Cho Gao and Go Cong Tay, with the main span and its access roads stretching roughly 1,300 meters. The project would be completed by November.
It is part of Provincial Road 864 running along the Tien River.
The province will build a new 36-kilometer stretch of the road, upgrade and keep using the current section totaling 74 kilometers in length.
The two-phase project would cost VND3,260 billion and be ready in 2027.
Once operational, the road is expected to improve regional traffic connectivity by linking the Trung Luong-My Thuan Expressway to national highways 1A, 50 and 30, among others.
