HCMC – The chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly, Vuong Dinh Hue, and his Cuban counterpart, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, attended the inauguration ceremony of two Vietnamese factories in Cuba yesterday, April 21, as part of his official visit to Cuba.
The two projects of Thai Binh Investment and Trading Corporation, namely the Suchel-TBV detergent factory and the solar energy project, were launched at Mariel Special Development Zone in Artemisa Province.
Suchel TBV S.A., a joint venture between Vietnam and Cuba, manufactures various products to satisfy the consumer demand in Cuba and export to other Latin American countries.
The solar energy project with a capacity of 20MW is entirely invested by Vietnam. The company plans to build another solar park with a total capacity of up to 1,000 MW by 2030.
After being put into operation, the two factories will help satisfy the demand for detergent, cleaning agents, and electricity, and create jobs for the people of Cuba, as well as contribute to the economic and social development of the country, according to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Ana Teresita González Fraga.
On the same day, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Vimariel Industrial Park Phase II of Viglacera Corporation and visited the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) in Cuba.
His official visit to Cuba was scheduled from April 18 to 23, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Cuba-Vietnam Solidarity Committee, and the 50th anniversary of Cuban leader Fidel Castro’s visit to Vietnam in July 1973.
After that, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will visit Argentina and Uruguay to enhance Vietnam’s relations with the two countries in Latin America.
