HCMC – Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai has approved including two industrial parks in HCMC in the development planning of Vietnam’s industrial parks (IPs).
The deputy PM signed Dispatch No. 364 approving the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s proposal for revising the development planning of Vietnam’s industrial parks.
Pham Van Hai 1 IP with an area of 379 hectares and Pham Van Hai 2 IP with an area of 289 hectares are located in Binh Chanh District.
In addition, the deputy prime minister removed three IPs in HCMC from the planning, namely Bau Dung and Phuoc Hiep IPs in Cu Chi District and Xuan Thoi Thuong IP in Hoc Mon District which were approved by the prime minister in 2014.
Other IPs in the city’s IP development planning, approved by the prime minister in 2014, will remain unchanged.
HCMC was tasked with updating the locations and total land areas of Pham Van Hai 1 and Pham Van Hai 2 IPs in the city planning in 2021-2030 with a vision toward 2050.
The conversion of land use purposes for the areas excluded from the IP development planning and the selection of contractors for implementing projects in these places will only be considered after the prime minister approves the scheme on removing Bau Dung, Phuoc Hiep and Xuan Thoi Thuong IPs from the planning.
The prime minister also asked HCMC to build a policy to attract investment into the IPs in line with the city’s socio-economic development orientations, especially projects using hi-tech, environmentally friendly projects and projects using less labor and resources of land, water and energy.
