HCMC – The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) will inspect accommodation services at star-rated hotels in some localities from June to October this year.
At the request of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the department of tourism in each of the chosen provinces will inspect star-rated lodging facilities in terms of service quality, pricing and advertising. Sanctions will be imposed if these service providers are found violating regulations.
Inspections will be conducted in three regions, including Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An in the north; Danang, Khanh Hoa and Quang Nam in the central region; and Binh Thuan, HCMC, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Kien Giang in the south.
Authorities will also scrutinize the advertising activities of these accommodation providers on social media and online booking systems like Agoda.com, Booking.com, Traveloka.com, Facebook and Zalo.
