HCMC –The Northern Airports Authority has allowed Noi Bai International Airport to resume operations, starting from 3 p.m. on July 18.
The airport’s earlier-than-planned reopening is due to improved weather conditions, which ensure safe flight operations. All vehicles, equipment, and infrastructure at the airport are in place to support a smooth resumption of normal operations.
Before this announcement, the Northern Airports Authority had issued a temporary closure notice for Noi Bai International Airport.
To ensure operational safety, Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi City suspended the reception and departure of aircraft from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 18.
Similarly, Van Don Airport in Quang Ninh Province and Cat Bi Airport in Haiphong City were temporarily closed from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the same day. These measures were implemented in response to the prevailing weather conditions associated with the storm, with a focus on prioritizing the well-being of passengers and the smooth operation of the airports.
According to the National Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Center, as of 1 p.m. on July 18, the eye of the storm was located in the southern part of Guangxi province, China.
The storm exhibited its strongest winds near its center, reaching a speed of level 8 (62-74 kilometers per hour) with gusts up to level 10. The impact of the typhoon was also felt in Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, and Lang Son, where strong level 6 winds with gusts up to level 10 were recorded.
