HCMC – Vam Sat 2 Bridge, connecting Ly Nhon Commune with the center of Can Gio District in HCMC, has been inaugurated after five years of construction, providing a significant boost to traffic flow in this coastal district.

The one-kilometer-long bridge features a main span of 434 meters and a width of 10 meters, and costs VND343 billion. It begins at Ly Nhon Street and ends at the intersection of Ly Nhon and De Xoai Rap.

Construction on the bridge commenced in March 2018 and was originally slated for completion in one year, replacing the deteriorating existing bridge. However, site clearance issues led to a halt in project work at the end of 2019. It wasn’t until October 2022 that Can Gio authorities had resolved the site clearance problems, allowing the project to proceed.

The completion of Vam Sat 2 Bridge significantly improves traffic connectivity between Ly Nhon Commune and Sac Forest, providing easier access to the center of the district.

Can Gio, situated 50 kilometers from HCMC, is the only coastal district in the city. Traffic infrastructure in the area has faced challenges, with the Binh Khanh ferry service, the primary access route to the district, often experiencing congestion.
