HCMC – Viglacera Corporation, which trades its VGC shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, posted nearly VND1.6 trillion in consolidated profit in the first nine months of this year, beating the annual plan by 31%.
During a meeting held on October 2 to assess the business performance in the first nine months of the year and set plans for the fourth quarter, Viglacera said that its September before-tax profit is estimated to surpass the monthly plan by 15%.
The before-tax profit of Viglacera between June and September amounted to VND565 billion, reaching 124% of the quarterly plan.
Business activities in the industrial real estate sector continue to be the key contributor to the corporation’s business results for the third quarter and the first nine months of the year.
The corporation is expected to achieve pre-tax profit of VND1.8 trillion in this sector in the first nine months of 2023, an increase of VND389 billion compared to the same period in 2022.
Today, October 5, VGC performed well on the southern bourse as it surged by 5.91% day-on-day to VND50,200 per share, with over 2.1 million shares changing hands.
Regarding the stock market today, the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange shed 14.78 points, or 1.31% day-on-day, at 1,113.89 points, with 103 winners and 386 losers.
Trade on the southern bourse totaled 609 million shares worth over VND13.03 trillion changing hands, down 10% in volume and 12% in value over the session earlier. Around 52.4 million shares worth around VND1.39 trillion were traded in block deals.
In the VN30 basket, only SBS and GVR were in positive territory, as they increased by 0.2% and 1.54% over yesterday’s session, respectively.
ACB moved sideways, while the other 26 stocks in the basket were all in negative territory. Among them, VCB declined by 2.1% to VND84,500, dragging the VN-Index down by 2.5 points.
VIX took the lead by liquidity, with over 23.1 million shares changing hands. At the close of the session, VIX plunged by 6.27% to VND14,200 per share.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index lost 2.19 points, or 0.95%, to 228.01 points, with 65 winners and 108 losers. The total trading volume amounted to 67.8 million shares, with a value of over VND1.36 trillion.
