Born and growing up in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, Le Ba Huynh Duc, 26, a dentomaxillofacial doctor at Buon Ma Thuot Medical University Hospital in Buon Ma Thuot City, has donated blood and platelets 65 times over the past eight years.

Duc told thanhnien.vn that the safe interval between two platelet donation times is at least 15 days. However, to be physically fit, he often donated platelets once a month. He also follows a healthy eating plan. He would go to any hospital around the city to donate blood or platelets to patients in need at any time of the day, rain or shine.

During the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, when Duc was a student of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Hue City, along with taking part in fighting the pandemic, he still managed to donate blood and platelets 20 times.

The young doctor considers blood donation his responsibility to help patients in need and he is happy to keep doing such deed whenever his health allows him to do so. Duc has also participated in many charitable activities for young, needy students and children in the province.
