HCMC – The Thai Consulate General in HCMC held a ceremony on December 5 to celebrate the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand (1927-2023), the birth anniversary of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and Thailand’s Father’s Day.
This event, which also marked the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand, was attended by Vo Van Hoan, vice chairman of the HCMC’s People Committee, and representatives from foreign diplomatic corps in HCMC.
Thai Consul General Wiraka Moodhitaporn said Thailand is committed to fostering stronger partnerships and strengthening economic ties with countries in ASEAN and the Greater Mekong Sub-region, with Vietnam regarded as one of its key partners.
The Consulate General and government agencies of Thailand in HCMC are actively working towards forging a mutually beneficial partnership with Vietnam.
The efforts primarily focus on providing support to Thai investors who have made long-term investments in Vietnam, with the goal of positively impacting the local communities and upholding the principles of corporate social responsibility.
Vo Van Hoan, vice chairman of HCMC, said Vietnam and Thailand were the first nations in ASEAN to establish a strategic partnership in 2013. The achievements in bilateral relations have demonstrated a strong political commitment and the growing bond between the two countries, particularly in economic cooperation.
The two nations have set an ambitious target of achieving a bilateral trade volume of US$25 million by 2025.
