HCMC – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue left Hanoi this morning, April 7, starting his official visit to China, local media reported.
His visit, scheduled from April 7 to 12, is made at the invitation of the chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, Zhao Leji.
This is his first visit to China in his capacity as chairman of the National Assembly and the first high-level visit to China by Vietnamese leaders after both sides declared their commitment to deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and building a community of shared future.
During NA Chairman Hue’s visit to China, he is anticipated to engage in in-depth exchanges on legislative experiences, witness the signing of a new cooperation agreement between the parliaments of the two countries, and discuss a new mechanism for high-level dialogue between the two legislative bodies.
“The visit signifies a pivotal interaction between the top leaders of both parties and nations, aimed at sustaining and strengthening strategic exchanges,” Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo said in an interview with Vietnam News Agency.
“The foremost objective is to expedite the implementation of several crucial shared understandings reached between the top leaders of the two Parties, especially those achieved during General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping’s visit to Vietnam last year.”
Xiong Bo also emphasized that China considers NA Chairman Hue’s visit an opportunity to enhance cooperation between Vietnam and China across all sectors.
