Binh Minh Plastics to pay 61% cash dividend for 2023

HCMC – Binh Minh Plastics Joint Stock Company, which trades its BMP shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, has announced its decision to pay a 61% cash dividend for 2023, equivalent to VND6,100 per share.

The company will finalize the list of shareholders eligible for the dividend on May 20, with the payment date expected to be June 10.

With over 81.86 million outstanding shares, Binh Minh Plastics is expected to spend around VND500 billion paying the dividend for its existing shareholders.

In the middle of December 2023, the company made an interim dividend payment for the first half of 2023 in cash with a rate of 65%.

The combined dividend payment for 2023 totals 126%, aligning with the plan approved by Binh Minh Plastics at its annual general meeting held on April 29, 2024.

At the end of the first quarter of 2024, Binh Minh Plastics recorded consolidated revenue of around VND1.02 trillion, down by 29.79% compared to the same period last year. Its after-tax profit reached nearly VND190 billion, down by 32.31% and the lowest profit since the third quarter of 2022.

Closing the trading session today, May 3, BMP climbed by 4.13% to VND116,000 per share, with a trading volume of 480,100 shares.

The southern stock exchange saw its third consecutive winning session, driven by the strong performances of blue-chip stocks.

With 223 stocks advancing and 200 others declining, the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange rose by 4.67 points, or 0.38%, day-on-day to 1,221.03 points.

The total trading volume reached 643.43 million shares worth nearly VND17.03 trillion, up 12.82% in volume and 18.25% in value. Block deals amounted to more than VND1.86 trillion, with nearly 76.2 million shares transacted.

The VN30 basket continued to drive up the market, with its index climbing by 8.4 points. There were 12 stocks declining, with GVR seeing the steepest decrease at 2%, followed by POW with a 1.4% drop and FPT with a 1.1% decline. The rest experienced decreases of less than 1%.

Alongside some outstanding blue-chip stocks, the aviation stock group was the focus of the market in the afternoon session. For example, HVN soared by 6.9% to VND18,500 per share, the highest price of HVN shares in almost two years.

VJC closed the session with a 2% gain, securing a position among the five best-performing stocks in the VN30 basket.

On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index added 0.73 points, or 32%, against yesterday’s session, at 228.22 points, with 92  advancers and 75 decliners. There were more than 55.5 million shares changing hands, with a total value of VND1.1 trillion.
