HCMC – All factories from Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park will be relocated in two phases, with the first phase set to conclude by December 2024 and the second phase by December 2025, according to local media reports.
The government of Dong Nai Province has issued a plan to relocate factories within the Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park as part of the project to convert it into an urban-commercial-service area.
Under the plan, manufacturing facilities within a 75-hectare area in the southern part of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park will be relocated by December 2024. The remaining factories will be moved by December 2025.
The relocation project is expected to require around VND7,500 billion for compensation, land clearance, and support for relocating businesses and residents.
Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, established in 1963, is one of the first industrial zones in the country, covering over 330 hectares and housing 76 factories and businesses.
After the factory relocation, the industrial park will be transformed into a 44-hectare main political and administrative center and a 286-hectare urban-commercial-service area.
