HCMC – The Consulate General of India in HCMC has announced that the 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY) will take place in HCMC this Friday.
Speaking at a press conference today, June 18, Indian Consul General Madan Mohan Sethi highlighted the growing popularity of yoga in Vietnam and expressed optimism about the country’s potential as a yoga hub.
The IDY event on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in District 1, HCMC is expected to draw between 1,500 and 2,000 participants.
“We are happy to support the establishment of yoga institutions across Vietnam to promote the health benefits of this ancient practice,” Sethi said, adding that IDY celebrations are planned in 25 other central and southern provinces of Vietnam this year.
The consulate also announced the forthcoming release of “Love in Vietnam”, a film jointly produced by the two countries. The movie, slated for screening in August and September, will be dubbed in Vietnamese, English and Hindi.
“Our target is to reach 100 million viewers in India, Vietnam, and other countries with this film,” said Sethi.
Sethi underscored collaborative efforts to enhance Vietnam-India ties, such as sending Vietnamese physicians for training in India’s healthcare facilities and fostering educational exchanges in the semiconductor sector between the two countries.
