HCMC – The Cao Bo-Mai Son section of the North-South Expressway will be expanded to six lanes in November this year, according to Ninh Binh Province’s Department of Transport.
The section has a total length of over 15 kilometers, starting at the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh Expressway in Y Yen District, Nam Dinh Province, and end at the Mai Son-National Highway 45 section in Yen Mo District, Ninh Binh Province.
The expansion, designed for speeds of 100-120 km per hour, includes the addition of two lanes, an intelligent transportation system (ITS), and automatic vehicle weight inspection. The project is estimated to cost nearly VND1.9 trillion, funded by the State budget.
The current Cao Bo-Mai Son section has been in use since 2022 with a limited four-lane capacity and a roadbed width of 17 meters.
