HCMC – The Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed that the Government Inspectorate consider lifting the post-inspection hurdles facing 154 solar farm projects.
The proposal was made during a national hybrid conference presided over by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on July 9. The conference discussed the action plan for National Power Development Plan VIII for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
Nguyen Hoang Long, deputy minister of Industry and Trade, said the obstacles which these solar power projects are grappling with should be removed to facilitate the execution of the direct renewable energy purchase mechanism.
According to the Government Inspectorate, the solar farm projects where inspections have been completed will be removed from the list of projects subject to ongoing inspection and investigation. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will then determine which projects can be included in National Power Development Plan VIII.
Regarding the wind farm projects that overlap the areas planned for mineral exploration and mining, Tran Quy Kien, deputy minister of Natural Resources and Environment, suggested that local authorities revise their planning to make it align with power development and mineral exploration and mining orientations.
