HCMC – Hanoi City has approved a plan to establish a new urban area in Me Linh District, where it will build over 800 affordable homes, according to the city’s Department of Planning and Investment.

The Me Linh new urban area project covers around 40.6 hectares, including 10.5 hectares for nearly 700 low-rise units of three to five floors and 3.5 hectares for social housing, totaling about 809 units, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

Authorities will accept investment registrations for the project online until 5 p.m. on August 31.

The total investment cost of the new urban area is estimated at over VND3.2 trillion, covering construction costs and land compensation.

The project, scheduled to be finished by 2028, is expected to accommodate over 5,000 people, aiming to create a modern, integrated urban area with comprehensive infrastructure to meet housing needs and support the socio-economic development of Me Linh District.
