HCMC – The Ministry of Transport will add more domestic flights from October 20 to November 30 after 10 days of piloting the reopening of domestic air services.

On the Hanoi-HCMC, Hanoi-Danang and Danang-HCMC routes, there will be no more than six daily flights on each route between October 21 and November 14, and no more than seven flights per day on each route from November 15 to 30, reported the local media.

The frequency on the other routes cannot be over four daily flights for each route.

After 15 days of implementing the increase in flight frequency, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) was asked to assess anti-Covid efforts in each locality and on a nationwide scale to propose appropriate adjustments to the flight frequency, the ministry said.

Regarding requirements for air passengers, if they come from areas at an extremely high risk of Covid transmission or under lockdown, they must have certificates of a negative PCR/rapid test result taken within 72 hours before departure.

The other passengers need to meet one of the following three requirements to be eligible to fly: have proof of full vaccination, with the second dose taken at least 14 days earlier and no more than 12 months before departure; have certificates showing they have recovered from Covid within the last six months or have certificates of a negative test result taken within 72 hours before departure.
