HCMC – A Vietjet flight from Cam Ranh to Hanoi on the morning of August 20 had to turn back and make an emergency landing at Cam Ranh Airport due to a pressure issue.

Flight VJ776, departing from Cam Ranh Airport in Nha Trang City at 9:45 a.m., encountered problems 20 minutes into the flight, prompting the aircraft to request a return to Cam Ranh Airport.

A passenger on board reported that about 30 minutes after takeoff, the plane appeared to nosedive, causing the oxygen masks to deploy.

By around 11 a.m., the aircraft safely returned to Cam Ranh Airport, and passengers were moved to the waiting room. Upon inspection, it was found that the oxygen mask system had deployed for all passengers, and the ventilation system was faulty.

The airline initially rescheduled the departure for 11:25 p.m. on the same day. However, due to passenger dissatisfaction, the airline announced a second departure time of 1:30 p.m. on the same day, using a different aircraft.

The aircraft with the technical issues is currently undergoing maintenance as required by Airbus and is expected to resume operations today, August 21.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has received a report on the incident and is conducting an investigation to determine the cause in accordance with regulations.
