HCMC – Farm produce suppliers in Lam Dong Province, a key farming area in the Central Highlands, have reported a surge in sales, particularly of fruits and vegetables with a long shelf life.
Recent days have seen a 30% increase in vegetable shipments from Lam Dong Province’s Dalat City and nearby districts like Dong Duong and Duc Trong to the northern provinces impacted by the typhoon.
A supplier on Van Hanh Street in Dalat City noted that their daily sales to supermarkets, previously around 10 tons, have recently jumped by 20% to 30%.
While most vegetable prices remain stable, there has been a slight price increase for items like broccoli, bell peppers, and spinach.
In the first half of this year, Lam Dong’s vegetable cultivation expanded to over 40,000 hectares, with output totaling an estimated 786,884 tons, up by 2.89% from the previous year.
Major vegetable farming areas include Dalat City, Don Duong, Duc Trong, Lac Duong, and Lam Ha districts.
