HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged faster work on infrastructure projects of national significance by addressing bottlenecks, expediting procedures, and accelerating site clearance.
Chinh chaired the 14th meeting of the State steering committee for key national infrastructure projects in Hanoi this afternoon, September 17, emphasizing that the implementation of these projects is an important political task.
He said that typhoon Yagi caused around VND40 trillion in damage, and solutions are needed to offset these losses. It is crucial to accelerate public investment disbursement and advance three strategic breakthroughs, especially in traffic infrastructure.
The Ministry of Transport said that it had submitted an investment proposal for the North-South high-speed rail line to the Politburo. A resolution for the implementation of the Gia Nghia-Chon Thanh expressway project has also been sent to the Government.
It is also reviewing investment adjustments of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway project.
For several specific projects, HCMC has coordinated with its neighboring provinces of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Long An to report to the PM and do the prefeasibility study for the HCMC Beltway No. 4 project.
Regarding the implementation of construction, most expressway projects have sufficient material resources and favorable conditions for site clearance, with construction progress meeting the requirements.
However, the implementation of some projects in certain localities, such as Can Tho and Soc Trang in the Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang expy project, is still slower than expected.
