HCMC – The Saigon Times Group is set to hold a blood donation day on the morning of October 5, seeking to mitigate the blood shortage, aid those in need, and nurture a sense of compassion within the community.
The blood drive will take place at the Saigon Times Group headquarters, 35 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, Nguyen Thai Binh Ward, District 1, HCMC, in collaboration with the HCMC Blood Donation Center and the Red Cross Society of Nguyen Thai Binh Ward.
This year, the Saigon Times Blood Donation Day 2024 is financially backed by Binh Tien Imex Corp., Pte., Ltd. (Biti’s), Southern Group. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola VietNam, TOUS les JOURS (a brand of the Korean bakery chain of CJ Foodville), the tea making company Cozy, and the dairy products maker Vinamilk provide in-kind support for the event.
Registration is currently open.
The Saigon Times Blood Donation Day, one of the annual social programs held by the Saigon Times Group, marks the 33rd birthday of The Saigon Times Weekly (October 10, 1991 – 2024) and the 29th birthday of The Saigon Times (October 2, 1995 – 2024).
In addition to addressing the big demand for blood of patients, the blood drive aims to raise public awareness about the importance of blood donation and the role each individual can play in saving lives. The powerful message, “A drop of blood given can save a life,” serves as a call to action for everyone in the community.
Last year’s event saw an impressive turnout, with over 130 local and foreign donors, including foreign diplomats, leaders and employees of businesses, government officials, and employees of the Saigon Times. More than 190 units of blood were then collected.
The Saigon Times Group is calling for blood donors to come to the event for the noble cause. Every donation counts, and your participation can make a big difference in someone’s life.
