HCMC – The Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE) 2024 was opened today, October 21, in HCMC, with the attendance of global leaders, business executives, policymakers, and sustainability advocates in a joint effort toward building a greener and more sustainable future.
Hosted by EuroCham Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, the event is expected to attract over 8,000 participants across its three-day agenda filled with high-level dialogues, exhibitions, and B2B networking opportunities.
Under the theme “Building Green Futures,” GEFE 2024 is more than just a forum—it is a platform designed to connect policy, business, and technology.
Bruno Jaspaert, chairman of EuroCham Vietnam, expressed his strong belief about the forum: “GEFE 2024 reflects the joint ambition of Vietnam and the EU to advance sustainable development. The participation of high-level officials, industry experts, and business leaders demonstrates that we are all committed to turning words into action, ensuring that together we build greener futures.”
A key highlight of the event is over 30 discussion sessions covering 10 green-themed topics, complemented by a high-level opening session. The workshops will address emerging green issues in Vietnam and examine policies and standards relevant to the EU market.
With more than 200 exhibitors, including 13 country pavilions, the exhibition provides attendees with free access to discover cutting-edge green technologies and initiatives, such as innovative solutions in renewable energy, sustainable construction, green finance, and carbon markets.
For example, Hitachi Energy, featured at the Swedish Pavilion, showcased a range of solutions for power transmission and substations, along with their innovative products, highlighting their commitment to contributing to a sustainable energy future in Vietnam.
Along with seven businesses showcasing sustainable technologies and initiatives, at the Swedish Pavilion this morning, the Embassy launched the “Sweden-Vietnam Business Footprint,” highlighting the strong partnership between the two countries and the contributions of Swedish companies in Vietnam.
At the Norway Pavilion, eight leading companies show their cutting-edge innovations and sustainable solutions which drive the green transition across various sectors.
