HCMC – Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong is set to visit Chile and Peru and attend the 2024 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Lima, starting this weekend, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This is Cuong’s s first foreign tour in his capacity as Vietnam’s State President since he took office last month, local media reported.
The visit to Chile, the first by a Vietnamese President in 15 years, is scheduled for November 9-12 at the invitation of Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font.
Cuong will visit Peru and participate in the APEC summit in Lima from November 12 to 16. The visit, at the invitation of Peruvian President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, marks the first time a Vietnamese President has visited Peru and coincides with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
