HCMC – The National Assembly passed a resolution this morning, November 27, approving a budget of at least VND122.25 trillion for a cultural development program in 2025-2035.
With 430 out of 454 deputies voting in favor, the resolution outlines the investment policy for the National Target Program on Cultural Development.
The budget includes VND77 trillion from the central Government, VND30.25 trillion from local budgets, and approximately VND15 trillion from other funding sources.
The Government will continue to adjust the central budget during the program’s implementation, prioritizing additional support based on actual needs. Efforts will also be made to mobilize legal funding sources for its execution.
The program, set to be implemented nationwide and in countries with longstanding cultural ties to Vietnam, aims to foster cultural transformation, strengthen personal and family values, and improve cultural accessibility while addressing disparities across regions and social classes.
Key objectives include preserving traditional culture, managing and promoting cultural heritage, and supporting cultural industries as a driver of socio-economic growth.
The program also focuses on building a professional cultural workforce to meet domestic and international demands and enhancing Vietnam’s cultural identity and global soft power through international integration.
