HCMC – Central Vietnam marked the start of the 2025 tourism season with welcome ceremonies for the year’s first visitors in Danang, Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Binh provinces on January 1.

In Danang City, nearly 3,000 visitors arrived by air and sea. The city’s Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Danang International Airport and local businesses, hosted a ceremony featuring cultural performances and distributed 1,000 vouchers for experiences at popular city attractions. International passengers from Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong were greeted at the international terminal.

The city also welcomed almost 2,000 passengers aboard the Noordam, a cruise ship operated by Holland America Line, which docked at Tien Sa Port following stops in Thailand and Cambodia.

In Hue City, over 200 passengers from Hanoi were welcomed at Phu Bai International Airport. The local tourism authority, in partnership with Vietnam Airlines, presented flowers and gifts to the first 10 passengers, with four receiving round-trip tickets. Hue’s 2025 campaign aims to attract up to 5 million visitors and generate VND11.2 trillion in revenue.

Quang Nam Province greeted 18 Italian tourists visiting the ancient town of Hoi An. After the ceremony, the group participated in cultural activities and explored the town’s renowned heritage sites.
