HCMC – Dam Thi Hoang Lan has been elected chairwoman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham Vietnam) for 2025.
With over 25 years of experience in healthcare, Lan has been a dedicated advocate for public health improvement in Vietnam. She has contributed to numerous key healthcare projects and policy initiatives, including collaborations with the Ministry of Health to enhance patient access to advanced treatments.
Since joining MSD, known as Merck & Co. in the U.S. and Canada, in 2016, Dr. Lan has led Government Affairs and Policy, Market Access, and Communications. In this role, she has worked to advance public health initiatives while supporting the sustainable growth of Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry and fostering long-term investments.
Commenting on her new position, Dr. Lan stated: “I will dedicate my utmost efforts to advancing AmCham’s mission while ensuring the organization’s sustainable success and lasting impact in Vietnam.”
At the meeting of AmCham Vietnam’s Board of Governors, James Meffen, chief financial officer of AES Vietnam, and Philip Ziter, senior associate at Russin & Vecchi, were elected as vice chairs.
Jesse Boone, director of Facilities and Campus Development at Fulbright University Vietnam, was named treasurer/financial controller, and Le Thi Thanh, senior attorney at Baker & McKenzie, was elected as secretary.
