NT2 to pay 8% cash dividend for 2023

HCMC – PetroVietnam Power Nhon Trach 2 JSC (HOSE, ticker: NT2) has approved a plan to distribute the remaining 2023 cash dividend of 8%, equivalent to VND800 per share.

NT2 will finalize the shareholders list for dividend payment on January 20, with the payment date set at February 20.

With around 288 million outstanding shares, the firm is set to distribute over VND230 billion to its shareholders, using its undistributed after-tax profit from 2023.

Notably, PetroVietnam Power Corporation  (PV Power, ticker: POW), the largest shareholder with a 59.37% stake, equivalent to nearly 171 million NT2 shares, will get about VND137 billion from this dividend payment.

In March 2024, Nhon Trach 2 distributed an interim cash dividend for the first half of 2023 at 7%, with plans to pay the remaining dividend for 2023 in the fourth quarter of 2024.

However, in early November 2024, the company announced the postponement of the second 2023 dividend payment to review its operations in accordance with actual conditions, ensuring optimal cash flow for business activities.

Closing the trading session today, January 10, NT2 fell by 0.95% against yesterday’s session to VND20,850 per share, with 289,500 shares changing hands.

The VN-Index of Hochiminh Stock Exchange shed 15.29 points, or 1.23%, against the previous day at 1,230.48 points, with 78 winners and 338 losers.

The total trading volume reached 499.3 million shares, valued at VND11,235.1 billion, a 48.5% surge in volume and a 49.6% rise in value compared to the previous session. Block transactions accounted for over 25 million shares, worth VND797.9 billion.

The VN30 basket also performed poorly, ending the session down more than 17.5 points, with 26 stocks declining and only three stocks avoiding the correction, namely SSB up 2.1%, BVH up 1%, and CTG up 0.3%, while SAB remained at its reference price.

SSI and VIX dropped by 2.9% and 3.8%, respectively, and were the two stocks with the highest trading volumes on the market, with 21.37 million and 20.4 million shares exchanged.

At the close of the session, the HNX-Index dropped by 2.44 points, or 1.1%, to 219.49 points, with 42 winners and 110 losers. Around 47.97 million shares worth a total of VND747 billion were traded. Block deals accounted for VND18.2 billion.
