HCMC – Saigon Real Estate Corporation, or Saigonres, (HOSE: SGR) is set to raise its charter capital to VND838.5 billion if it completes a planned share issue to pay its 2024 dividend in stock.
Saigonres has approved a plan to issue shares for the 2024 dividend at a ratio of 20%, meaning shareholders owning 10 shares will receive an additional two new shares.
The issue is expected to take place in 2026, pending approval from the State Securities Commission.
With nearly 69.9 million shares currently outstanding, the company is expected to issue an additional 13,974,997 shares. If completed successfully, Saigonres’ charter capital would increase from VND698.75 billion to VND838.5 billion.
Regarding its business outlook, Saigonres has also approved a plan for the 2026-2030 period. For 2026 alone, its total investment capital is projected at VND3.05 trillion, up 14.4 times from 2025. Its revenue is forecast at VND1.37 trillion, up 422.5% year-on-year, while its pre-tax profit is expected to reach VND612 billion, up 530.9% from 2025.
According to the plan, Saigonres will hold its 2026 annual general meeting of shareholders in HCMC on May 8.
Closing the trading session today, April 28, SGR increased by 0.33% against the previous session to VND15,250, with 74,000 shares changing hands.
On the southern bourse, the VN-Index climbed 22.55 points, or 1.22% against the final session last week, at 1,875.84 points, with 107 winners and 210 losers.
Over 629.7 million shares worth VD19.4 trillion were traded on the market, down slightly 6% in volume and little changed in value compared with the previous Friday’s session. Block deal transactions accounted for VND51.7 million shares, valued at VND1.38 trillion.
The four Vingroup-related stocks together contributed more than 34 points to the benchmark index. Among them, VHM and VRE closed at their daily upper limits of VND151,000 and VND30,800, respectively, while VIC gained 6.3% to VND225,500 and VPL rose 3.4% to VND84,300.
Among other notable blue chips, STB rose 4.9% to VND68,100, with more than 8.21 million shares traded, while SAB gained 3.2% to VND48,500 and MWG edged up 2.5% to VND85,600.
On the downside, most decliners posted only modest losses, though the oil and gas pair came under heavy selling pressure, with PLX hitting the daily lower limit, down 6.9% to VND36,950, and GAS falling 6.1% to VND73,500.
On the northern bourse, the HNX Index fell 2.51 points, or 1.00%, to 249.44, with 61 gainers and 91 decliners.
Matched trading volume totaled more than 53.3 million shares worth nearly VND968 billion. Put through transactions added another 23.1 million shares valued at VND412.5 billion.
