TCE Vina Denim, in collaboration with Singapore’s SP Group (SP), has launched a rooftop solar power system at its factory in Nam Dinh Province. With a capacity of 5.2 megawatt-peak (MWp), this system was constructed and installed by Pebsteel.
The system was put into operation on 15 January 2025, marking a new milestone in TCE Vina Denim’s sustainability journey. With this system, the company was able to replace 15 per cent of fossil fuel energy used for electricity for its manufacturing and business activities with a renewable source. This enables the company to offset 54,118 tons of carbon emissions annually – equivalent to planting 2.4 million trees. The initiative underscores TCE Vina Denim’s commitment to greening manufacturing practices to meet the sustainability requirements in export markets.
TCE Vina Denim, a South Korean company, invested in a denim factory in Nam Dinh, which has been operational since 2014. Its products are exported to main markets like the United States, the European Union, Japan, and South Korea. Since its inception in Vietnam, the company has adopted clean, green, and environmentally-friendly manufacturing operations towards environmental protection and sustainable development. The factory features a wastewater treatment station with a capacity of 4,000 tons per day, a wastewater recycling system with a capacity of 1,500 tons per day, an exhaust gas and odor treatment system, and air conditioning and ventilation systems. In addition, priority is given to organic raw materials, recycled accessories, and recycled resources to promote the circular economy in manufacturing.
To further reduce its reliance on fossil fuels, TCE Vina Denim has converted all of its coal-fired boilers to biomass since 2024. This coupled with the official launch of the rooftop solar power system. In the near future, the company will partner with Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) to increase the proportion of renewable energy for its manufacturing activities to at least 70 per cent by 2030, gradually reducing its use of fossil fuels. Such initiatives demonstrate the company’s ongoing efforts to protect the environment, contributing to Vietnam’s net-zero emissions target by 2050.

In the past, Pebsteel installed the dyeing and weaving workshops for TCE Vina Denim, which remain in good condition after 10 years of operation. With the latest project, Pebsteel has demonstrated its capabilities when implementing the rooftop solar power system with speed, quality, and safety.”
