HCMC – The ministries of Industry-Trade and Finance have reduced retail fuel prices across Vietnam, effective from 3 p.m. today, March 6.
The price of RON 95-III gasoline has dropped by VND710 to VND20,402 per liter, while E5 RON92 bio-fuel is now priced at VND19,961 per liter, down by VND697.
Diesel has fallen by VND624 to VND18,333 per liter, and kerosene has decreased by VND762 to VND18,573 per liter. Heavy oil is now priced at VND17,150 per kilogram, a reduction of VND465.
The two ministries have maintained their policy of not imposing a surcharge on any fuel type, and local fuel traders are not allowed to tap into the price stabilization fund during this adjustment.
Global fuel prices have fluctuated due to multiple factors, including OPEC+’s decision to proceed with an oil production increase in April, new U.S. tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China, retaliatory measures from these countries, and the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Currently, RON92 gasoline is priced at US$80.7 per barrel, RON95 at US$82.3 per barrel, diesel at US$86.5 per barrel, and heavy oil at US$469 per ton.
