HCMC – Passenger terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC is scheduled for inauguration on April 30 to mark Vietnam’s Reunification Day, with full operations set to begin after the holiday peak period.
Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air are expected to be the first airlines operating from the new terminal.
Meanwhile, the domestic flights of Vasco, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines, and Pacific Airlines will continue to depart from terminal T1.
Ahead of the official launch, Tan Son Nhat International Airport will conduct trial operations at T3 as per the Prime Minister’s directive.
The airport’s preparations include testing equipment systems, refining passenger service procedures, and implementing training programs to ensure smooth communication and operations.
A representative from the airport confirmed that full operations at the terminal will commence after the Reunification Day and May Day holiday rush in 2025, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
T3 is expected to significantly reduce congestion at Tan Son Nhat, which has struggled with overcrowding in recent years.
Designed to handle up to 20 million passengers annually, the terminal project includes four key components: the passenger terminal, a multi-story parking garage integrated with non-aviation services, an elevated roadway system, and an aircraft apron.
The VND11-trillion project began construction in December 2022.
