HCMC – A charter flight carrying 231 passengers from Russia landed in Khanh Hoa Province on March 17, marking the resumption of direct service after a three-year suspension.
Flight ZF2577 operated by Azur Air LLC departed from Irkutsk, Russia, and arrived at Cam Ranh International Airport at approximately 3:30 p.m. This was the first charter flight bringing Russian tourists to Nha Trang since the COVID-19 pandemic halted services in 2020.
Russia remains a key market for Vietnam’s tourism, with Khanh Hoa being a top destination among Russian travelers.
In 2019, the province welcomed around 463,000 Russian visitors, accounting for 71.6% of the total 646,524 Russian arrivals in Vietnam. However, flights from Russia to Khanh Hoa were suspended due to various factors and have only now resumed.
Azur Air plans to operate 12 charter flights in March, gradually increasing frequency. Between April and June, the airline is expected to operate 50-60 flights per month, further rising to 90-100 flights per month in July, connecting Cam Ranh with 11 Russian cities.
