Van Ninh-Cam Lo exy set to be operational by end-April

HCMC – The Van Ninh–Cam Lo Expressway, as part of the eastern North-South Expressway, is around 83% complete, with authorities aiming to open the road to traffic by April 30.

According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, package XL1 in Quang Binh Province has reached around 87% of its contract value, while package XL2 in Quang Tri Province stands at around 78%.

The project management board and relevant units are accelerating efforts to open the main route of the expressway by April 30. Meanwhile, three overpasses are scheduled for completion before June 30.

The Van Ninh–Cam Lo section of the North-South Expressway spans over 65.5 kilometers, with more than 33 kilometers running through Quang Binh Province and 32.5 kilometers through Quang Tri Province.

In its initial phase, the expressway features four lanes without emergency shoulders, but includes designated emergency stopping points. The designed speed limit ranges from 80 to 90 kilometers per hour.

Once fully completed, the expressway will expand to six lanes with two emergency lanes and a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The project, which began construction in early 2023, has a total investment of VND9.9 trillion.
