HCMC – The Vietnamese aviation authority has told local airlines to review their flight plans and select alternative routes to avoid potential risks stemming from the military conflict between India and Pakistan.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) said the conflict that began between India and Pakistan on May 7 could affect flight safety for Vietnamese airlines, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
The CAAV urged Vietnamese carriers to closely monitor the conflict and assess its impact on routes passing through the airspace of the two countries. They were told to review their operations and consider alternative flight paths if necessary to ensure safety.
It also instructed airlines to notify passengers of any schedule changes.
Earlier, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) announced the closing of its airspace at 2:55 a.m. on May 7 (Hanoi time). In response, Vietnam Airlines adjusted its flight routes and schedules for services between Vietnam and Europe to ensure safety.
