HCMC – Vietnamese President Luong Cuong and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron witnessed the signing of several bilateral cooperation agreements following their talks this morning, May 26.
These agreements cover cooperation in defense, peaceful nuclear energy, Earth observation satellite deployment, and many others.
According to the Vietnam News Agency, the agreements signed and exchanged during the occasion include:
- A letter of intent to strengthen cooperation in the field of defense equipment between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the French Ministry of the Armed Forces.
- The 2025-2026 cooperation plan between Vietnam’s Ministry of Justice and the French Embassy in Vietnam.
- A letter of intent between Vietnam’s Ministry of Home Affairs and France’s Ministry of Culture on cooperation in the field of archives.
- A memorandum of understanding between Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the French Development Agency Group on cooperation in agriculture and environmental sectors for the 2025-2030 period.
- A letter of intent between Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction and France’s Ministry of Transport to promote cooperation in the transport sector.
- A cooperation agreement on science, technology, and innovation between the governments of Vietnam and France.
- A letter of intent between Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology and France’s Ministry of Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
- A loan agreement between the French Development Agency and Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance for a climate adaptation project in Ninh Thuan Province, aimed at combating drought, erosion, and flooding.
- A partnership agreement between Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC) and Sanofi Southeast Asia & India on vaccine manufacturing technology transfer in Vietnam.
- A purchase agreement for 20 A330-900 wide-body aircraft between Vietjet Air and Airbus.
- A joint cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Airbus Defense and Space, and the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) on the deployment of Earth observation satellites.
- A memorandum of cooperation between Saigon Newport Corporation and CMA CGM (CMA Terminals) on the joint development of Berths 7 and 8 at Lach Huyen Port in Haiphong City.
- A credit agreement between the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and the French Development Agency (AFD) for financing EVNNPT’s southern power transmission network enhancement project.
