HCMC – Motorbikes will be banned from the access road to the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway, from An Phu Interchange to Vo Chi Cong Street, starting June 7, according to an announcement from the HCMC’s Department of Construction.

Specifically, starting June 7, motorcycles will be prohibited from traveling in both directions on the section between An Phu Interchange and Vo Chi Cong Street.

Instead, riders can take an alternative route via Vo Chi Cong Street – Nguyen Duy Trinh Street – Do Xuan Hop Street – the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway frontage road – Mai Chi Tho Street, and vice versa.

The department emphasized that drivers must comply with traffic officers’ instructions and road signage.

It also requested the Road Infrastructure Management Center to install traffic signs and banners and conduct public awareness campaigns to inform motorcycle riders of the changes.

Meanwhile, HCMC police have been tasked with increasing patrols and managing traffic flow during the implementation of the new traffic plan.

The HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway stretches 55 kilometers, connecting HCMC and Dong Nai Province. It is one of the busiest expressways in the country, with an average daily traffic volume of 45,000 to 50,000 vehicles.
