HCMC – Tran Minh Hung has been appointed editor-in-chief of the Saigon Times Group, now operating under the HCMC People’s Committee (new), with Pham Huu Chuong named as deputy editor-in-chief.
The HCMC People’s Committee held a ceremony this morning, July 3, to announce personnel appointments and the establishment of public service units under its direct management.
At the event, the committee also announced decisions to transfer the administrative oversight of 54 public service units – previously managed by HCMC, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau – to fall directly under the authority of the HCMC People’s Committee.
Among the 54 public service units, ten are media organizations now placed under the direct management of the People’s Committee of the new HCMC.
These include the Voice of HCMC (VOH), HCMC Television (HTV), Binh Duong Radio and Television Station, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Radio and Television Station, Phap Luat HCMC newspaper, Du lich magazine, Doanh nhan Saigon magazine, Giao duc HCMC magazine, Khoa hoc – Pho thong HCMC magazine, and the Saigon Times Group.
Alongside the appointment at the Saigon Times Group, the HCMC People’s Committee also issued decisions to receive and appoint leaders for the nine other media organizations.
