Vietnam attracts nearly 10.7 million foreign visitors in H1

HCMC – Vietnam’s tourism sector posted strong growth in the first half of the year, with nearly 10.7 million international arrivals, up 20.7% year-on-year.

Data from the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism showed that international arrivals in June reached nearly 1.5 million, up 17% versus the year-ago period.

In the first half of 2025, China remained Vietnam’s largest source of international visitors, with 2.7 million arrivals, accounting for 25.6% of the total.

South Korea ranked second with 2.2 million visitors, or 20.7%. Together, these two markets made up 46.3% of all international arrivals.

Taiwan followed with 630,000 arrivals, trailed by the United States with 449,000, Japan with 393,000, and Cambodia with 360,000. India, Australia, Malaysia, and Russia also ranked among Vietnam’s top 10 international tourism markets.

During the first half of the year, air travel accounted for the majority of international arrivals, with 9.1 million visitors entering Vietnam by air – representing 85.2% of the total and up 22.7% year-on-year.

Around 1.4 million visitors entered by land, making up 13.1% and rising 10.9%, while sea arrivals reached 181,400, or 1.7% of the total, up 10% compared to the same period last year.
