HCMC – India has decided not to impose anti-dumping duties on hot-rolled coil (HRC) steel exported by Vietnam’s Hoa Phat Group, according to a final ruling issued on August 13 by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR).
DGTR said Hoa Phat’s products had a dumping margin within the 0–10% range, which exempts them from tariffs. Other Vietnamese exporters were found to have dumping margins of 20–30% and will face a duty of US$121.5 per ton for five years.
India launched the investigation on August 14, 2024, targeting alloy and non-alloy HRC products, uncoated and unplated, with thicknesses of up to 25 mm and widths of up to 2,100 mm.
The dumping investigation covered January 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, while the injury review spanned April 2020 to March 2024.
