In Hung Nhon Village, Nam Hai Lang Commune, Quang Tri Province, all alleys have been equipped with QR codes that enable tourists to locate places of interest by scanning the codes on their smartphones.

Hung Nhon Village, located by the O Lau River, has 270 households that make a living through farming. Despite its tranquility, the village is well known for the QR codes stuck at both ends of the 16 alleys in the village. This initiative was realized by Nguyen Nhu Khoa, head of the village.

Khoa told thanhnien.vn that he made use of the QR codes to show the way to all alleys and houses in the village for those in need, especially visitors from afar and shippers. He also incorporated the details of every alley and every house in the village into the QR codes. Thanks to what he has done, visitors can now find out the exact position of a house, the length of an alley, as well as the precise locations of schools, pagodas, and temples in the village.

After being launched in April of this year, the QR codes have been used by villagers on their wedding invitation cards and birthday party invitation cards. Khoa said he would integrate more information on Hung Nhon Village’s history, culture and people into the QR codes with a view to modernizing and turning it into a new rural village.
